"Hitotsu no Hana" was planned as a tourist option for foreign visitors to Japan and began in 2018. Services not seen in previous Noh performances, such as multilingual subtitles and Japanese food and drink stalls, attracted attention, and as a weekday entertainment that was scarce in urban areas, it attracted attention not only from tourists but also from domestic business people.
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, live streaming was conducted over the Internet without an audience, and in 2021, live streaming with an audience was also successful.
From 2022, full-scale audience performances will be resumed, and the plan is to make it accessible to many people, both first-time Noh watchers and repeat enthusiasts.
In 2024, audio guides will be provided in both Japanese and English, with Noh performers providing live commentary on the performance, and a restaurant will be set up in the lobby where you can enjoy Japanese sake, light meals, and specialty coffee in a gorgeous setting. After the performance, there will be an optional after-talk by five members of the five schools of shite actors, "The Pleasures of the Five Schools Vol. 4." We strive to create an event that everyone can enjoy from the time they arrive until they leave.
