川島素晴 works vol.6 by 中村仁美

overview

This is the 6th installment of Kawashima's solo exhibition series, featuring Hichiriki player Hitomi Nakamura, who is the first to play traditional Japanese instruments.

The first half traces the history of the hichiriki, including the ancient instrument auros, the restored instrument of the Shosoin treasure house, and the modern hichiriki.

In addition to a new solo work accompanied by video, the second half presents new possibilities for contemporary hichiriki through different methods.

At the end, the entire cast performed a piece that won the Toshi Ichiyanagi Contemporary Award.

In collaboration with Hitomi Nakamura, who is the only one who explores the possibilities of modern hichiriki performance, we will open up new possibilities for this instrument from all directions. stay tuned!
