Hanagatami
Prince Oji travels to Kyoto to succeed the throne, leaving behind a keepsake flower basket for his beloved Teruhimae. Soon after, the prince, who has become Emperor Keitai, is confronted by Teruhimae, who has become a madwoman out of grief. However, the flower basket that she had a maid carry for her is knocked down by the Emperor's attendant because it was unsightly, causing her to go crazy and dance wildly...
A dignified and graceful Noh play by Zeami depicting the love between an emperor and his consort.
Okadayu
The groom wanted his wife to make the warabimochi he had eaten at his father-in-law's house, but forgot its name. He then remembered that the other name for warabimochi, "Okadayu," appeared in the recitation poetry his wife regularly recited...
Zhaojun
During the Han Dynasty in China, a beautiful woman, Zhaojun, was offered from the harem to Huhanye Chanyu of the Hu Dynasty as a ploy to promote peace. Her elderly parents were sorrowfully sweeping the area around the willow tree that Zhaojun had planted as a keepsake. Following the legend, the parents were looking at the willow tree in a mirror and remembering their beloved daughter, when indeed Zhaojun's image was reflected in the mirror. The Chanyu's image was also reflected, showing his strange and violent appearance...
