"Salt of the Earth" is an anti-war novel written by Polish Jewish author Józef Witlin, depicting the suffering of the people in what is now Ukraine. On June 22, 2022, just after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the anti-war event "ToMoNi" was held at the Osaka Castle Outdoor Music Hall, and a "anti-war reading" based on the novel was performed by Kansai theater artist and Yoji Sakate, along with a performance by Shibusa Shirazu and various dances. Two years have passed since then, and the Russian invasion continues, and Israel's attacks on Gaza have intensified. This new work was born from the thought of what kind of theater we need in this turbulent world.
Friday, June 21st is a preview performance. Seating is unreserved only.
