▶オペラ「ミスター・シンデレラ」って？

2001年の初演以来、ウィットに富んだ現代を代表する日本オペラとして絶大な人気を博している作品。
ストーリーは劇作家・高木達がずっと温めていたアイディア「ある日突然、男が女に変貌してしまう」話。
鹿児島のとある大学で研究をしている男とその妻を主軸に、その夫婦を取り巻く個性豊かな登場人物らによって「愛」 そして「幸福」のあり方が、時には楽しく、時には切なく、炙り出されていきます。
真実の幸せとは?･･･誰しもが追い求める 「人生における幸せ」の意味をユニークな物語、 作曲家として数多くの素晴らしい作品を生み出されている伊藤康英氏の多面的ながらも親しみやすい卓越した楽曲で描きます。
スピーディーに展開される、笑いあり涙ありのまさに"究極のエンターテインメント・オペラ“「ミスターシンデレラ」。今回、ハミングホール開館25周年を記念し、全く新しいプロダクションで上演いたします！

"Humming Hall 25th Anniversary Performance
Opera Mr. Cinderella

What is true happiness? …It's something everyone pursues.
A story that weaves the meaning of "happiness in life."

▶What is the opera "Mr. Cinderella"?

Since its premiere in 2001, this work has gained immense popularity as a witty and representative contemporary Japanese opera.
The story is based on an idea that playwright Takagi Tatsu had been mulling over for a long time: a man suddenly transforming into a woman one day.
The story revolves around a man who is doing research at a university in Kagoshima and his wife, and the unique characters who surround the couple bring to light the meanings of "love" and "happiness," sometimes in a joyous and sometimes heartbreaking way.
What is true happiness?...This unique story explores the meaning of "happiness in life" that everyone strives for, and the multifaceted yet accessible and outstanding music of Yasuhide Ito, a composer who has produced many wonderful works.
"Mr. Cinderella" is the ultimate entertainment opera, with a fast-paced story that will have you laughing and crying. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the opening of Humming Hall, we will be presenting a completely new production!
